Retail & Restaurant Installations

Distributed Audio

Music plays a central role in creating the ambiance of your restaurant or retail space. A distributed audio installation typically consists of installing speakers on the walls and ceiling, with the ability for you to quickly, and easily select what audio you want to hear, at the desired volume.

All distributed audio systems will include wither a multi channel, or multi zone amplifier. A multi-channel amplifier will reproduce the same audio source distributed at the same volume over multiple speakers. When you turn up the volume, the volume is increased on each speaker equally. This is prefect for smaller, single room restaurants or retail spaces.

A multi-zone system will give you independent control over groups of speakers in different locations. For example, a restaurant may want to have the volume of music in its lounge area to be different than in the dining area. This would require a multi-zone audio system.

There are several ways to control your distributed audio system, and we work with clients to determine the best way for their specific use case. For smaller locations, many people find it easiest to control through the smartphone app. We can also install wall switches to make changing audio sources a breeze.

For medium-large stores or restaurants, we typically wall mount an iPad or other tablet for easy control of the audio system.

Ultimately this will depend on factors like your ceiling height, whether you want audio to be the primary focus (like a nightclub) or if it’s background music like in a retail space, and your room layout and decor. That being said, for standard commercial layouts, a good rule of thumb is if you have 10 ft. ceilings, each speaker will cover about 400 sq ft.

Distributed Video

Video is becoming more and more centralized. With the invention of distributed video, one source can be shared with multiple TVs that are all connected to a switch. For example, If you’ve ever enjoyed a game at a sports bar with multiple TV’s playing the same game, you’ve experienced a distributed video system.

There are several ways to control your distributed video system, and we work with you to determine the best way for your specific use. For smaller stores, many people find it easiest to control through the smartphone app, or single unified remote control. We can also install wall switches to make changing video sources a breeze. No more fumbling with multiple remotes and trying to match the right inputs and outputs!

Another benefit of distributed video is it allows for all the equipment to be stored in a back room, or somewhere out of sight. This will keep your location clean and free from the extra clutter of electronics.

For larger restaurants or retail spaces, we typically wall mount a tablet for easy control of the distributed video system.

A good rule is that every seat should have a view of at least three televisions, and have the ability to see a few more if they turn their head. You never know when a tall guy at the bar is blocking the view of the main screen, so it’s important to give your patrons different viewing options. A distributed video system will be important as you will likely want to show different games/events on various banks of TVs.

Smart Business Automation

You have enough to worry about without letting the technology of your store or restaurant distract you. Smart  automation can give you a competitive advantage by improving operating efficiencies. Set your lighting, music, temperature and video to greet your customers with the perfect welcome. With one button your security system arms, lights go on, temperature adjusts and all the music and TVs automatically turn on. Keep an eye on things—from anywhere. Whether equipment or lights are left on, or unusual activity is detected, you’ll always be in the know.

One of the most powerful features of smart automation for retail stores or restaurants is the ability to program complex “scenes” that can be controlled with the push of a button. For example, a restaurant may want different lighting or music volume in different areas, or to change throughout the day to accommodate lunch, dinner, and late night crowds. This can be automated by our programmers, and you would have the ability to control the scene & individual components from a tablet or smartphone, as well as easy to use wall switches.

Ease of use is our goal, and if something isn’t working to your liking, our support team is just a phone call or email away.

One of the most popular reasons for implementing a smart automation solution is to improve the productivity of the organization. It’s really quite simple: for example, by making it easier to carry out menial tasks like adjusting the temperature so your employees & customers are comfortable, ensuring the background music is at the proper volume, and that the lighting is automatically changing as needed, it gives your staff more time to focus on customers, and gives you peace of mind that everything in your location is operating as it should be, even when you are not there.
